Janet Baker joined First Financial Equity Corporation in January 2020 with over 30 years of experience in financial management and financial planning. Originally from Canada, Janet graduated with honors from Queen’s University at Kingston Ontario. She is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), as well as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA). Janet is also a trained mediator and is a member of the Collaborative Law Group of Southern Arizona.

Having owned and operated a successful small business, and having experienced the loss of loved ones unexpectedly, as well as a divorce, Janet knows firsthand the importance of financial planning and is passionately committed to educating and serving her clients. Her areas of expertise include budgeting, survivor needs, education funding, investing and asset allocation, tax management, retirement planning, estate planning, cross-border planning, and divorce financial planning.

Janet is on the Advisory Board for Divorce Recovery and is dedicated to providing emotional, educational support to members of the Tucson community whose families are going through divorce. Janet is a frequent speaker for the Pima County Bar and Arizona State Bar on financial issues as they relate to divorce.

When not in her office, Janet can be found on the golf course or traveling the globe in search of interesting places and things to photograph.

Lupita Hi-O’Connell earned her degree in Accounting from University Autonomous of Tamaulipas, Mexico. She also attended University of Texas, where she learned the English language. She has provided financial and investment advice to families and small business owners for 25 years. Lupita has developed long-term relationships with her clients, helping them achieve their financial goals and planning for their future by proper positioning and management of their assets.

Lupita offers financial and retirement planning, college savings plans, risk management, asset protection strategies through annuities, personal life, disability and long-term care insurance. She can assist you step by step on the implementation of qualified plans such as 401(K)’s, SEP/ IRA’s, Roth IRA’s, and IRA Rollovers.

Lupita plays a large role in her community as she serves on the Executive Board and Vice President of Zonta International, local chapter. She is a member of the Tucson Cancer Conquerors, served as Secretary/Treasurer/Public Relations Chair on the Executive Board of Directors for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and received the Community Service “Award of Excellence.”

Lupita actively participated in the Conference for Professional Women for the Arizona- Mexico Commission sponsored by both Governors of Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. She served on the Advisory Board of Directors for Live Theater Workshop. She has volunteered as an instructor for the Business Class at Pima Community College, as well as an English-Spanish interpreter for the University Medical Center Pediatrics at the St. Andrews Children Clinic in Nogales, AZ under the direction of “Father Ed.” Lupita has received multiple recognitions and awards throughout her career.

Her passion is to empower women, minorities and small business owners to take control of their finances. Lupita is happily married to Dan and enjoy playing golf, hiking, traveling and spending family time with children and grandchildren. Lupita is fluent in Spanish and English.

She is Registered with FINRA and insurance licensed in multiple States.

Teddy is the eldest son of John Simonson and has joined his father’s team in January of 2017 as a registered representative. Teddy was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from the University of San Diego in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration. While attending the University of San Diego, he was the president of the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and participated in many sports, including club water polo and various intramurals. His hobbies include weightlifting, martial arts, and anything that allows him to get outdoors. He enjoys working closely with clients to help them monitor their investments and track their performance. He oversees the technological aspects of the team as well as helping with researching investments, marketing and account analysis. He looks forward to providing clients with superior care and believes that family dynamic among the Simonson team creates an outstanding experience.

Larry’s personal goal is to become a lifetime resource for each and every client. To do this, he has spent his career focusing on helping his clients with how to pay for their childrens’ education and helping to answer the question of when and how his clients should collect their Social Security benefit.

He was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, but has gained experience living all over the southwest. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Larry moved to Las Vegas, but he could not escape the lure of the Sonoran desert. After seven years, he moved back to Tucson where he met his wife Goldie. She has come to the realization that her name is now Goldie Goldstein.

Larry and his wife Goldie recently had their first daughter Sylvia. When he is not chasing Sylvia around, he has various hobbies including golf, basketball, and twisting balloons into all kinds of shapes. He also enjoys volunteering his time for The Make A wish Foundation of Southern AZ, Children’s Cancer Network and the Arizona Cancer Center’s Better Then Ever Program.

Lyle entered the financial services industry right after completing a bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Arizona in 1974. For over four decades, Lyle has developed long term relationships with clients and brings a “holistic” approach to financial planning. Many of Lyle’s clients have him handle their personal investments, retirement accounts, as well as personal life and disability insurance, health insurance and long term care insurance needs. In addition, Lyle works with small businesses by offering employee benefits including 401(k), other retirement plans and employee benefits.

Lyle and his wife Darlene enjoy vacations in Mexico, visiting their daughter Alissa in Istanbul and son Alex in Dallas.
